Meet Casey

My name is Casey Lara, owner and head trainer at Stand Proud K9 Training!

The biggest little city has been my home my entire life and I don't think I could ever find a more diverse and interesting city. Traveling is a passion of mine and I take my dogs - a German Shepherd, Golden Retriever and Miniature Australian Shepherd - with me any chance I get. It's very important for me to include them in my daily life but, like many folks, it wasn't always possible. My Shepherd was reactive, my Aussie was fearful, and my Golden had selective hearing. Training them took different approaches and I learned so much from them, the change I saw was incredible and I enjoyed training them so much that I had to turn it into a career.

I am always eager to learn and I attend training seminars at least once a year to further my knowledge and gain insight on the best way to help dogs of all sizes, breeds, and behaviors. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the transformations and milestones people reach with their dogs and I strive to see the smiles on peoples faces when they learn their dog is capable of so much more. .

I want every owner to enjoy time with their dogs. I want them to know there is hope and I'm ready to help!

Meet Katy

I'm Katy Ceccarelli, and as a born and raised Nevadan I've always had a passion for animals. From my time in 4-H during school to riding horses both for leisure and competition. I've maintained a steadfast, and hands-on approach to the training and well-being of all my animals. From middle-of-the-night treatments to helping a new life being born into the world, my life has consistently revolved around the betterment and realities of animal care and training.

Naturally, the next step in my career was to put my lifetime of training, understanding and accomplishments to productive use.  I decided to focus on how I could make a real difference to our community and stay involved in what my passion is. As such, I enrolled and graduated from Animal Behavior College Dog Obedience Program.  It is through this discipline that my passion continues.  Moreover, it is my personal mission statement to provide the best dog training possible for both the dogs and the owners.  It is my belief that the relationship between owner and dog is a nexus of both respect and discipline.  And it is through this partnership that I believe I can provide the conduit to facilitate this. I’m looking forward to working with you!

Not only are they amazing with dogs, but they make sure you’re comfortable and confident every step of the way. Best trainer in town! —Taylor H. w/ Atlas

Lori w/ Mongo and Sadie

The Stand Proud k9 training center worked miracles in 2 weeks with these guys. For the first time, I walked the 2 of them this morning instead of being pulled around. Mongo didn't react to other dogs at all & they both behaved extremely well the entire time. We are blown away by the difference in both dogs regarding their behavior. Thank you Casey.

Adrian w/ Cat

Cat, our Catahoula puppy, had an amazing board and train experience with Casey and Katy! She learned so much (recall, place, heel and more). The Stand Proud team also did a great job sending photos and updates during Cat's training. Highly recommend!

Christine w/ Roxy

"I just wanted to tell you guys how great you have been for us and Roxy. She is an amazing dog and with your help she is a very well behaved Rottweiler that I can take anywhere! I litterally take her everywhere with me. The E Collar has made a HUGE difference in her recall and other commands. We have been trying some off leash things around the house and at the park. WOW is all I have to say. We are thinking about getting another puppy in the next 6 months or so. Thank you again for the training and we look forward to the future with you guys! I love that you customize the training to my dog and that this is a lifetime relationship. Roxy is proving the Rottweiler stereotype wrong! "

Krista w/ Sadie

I was so skeptical at first because I was worried my pup, Sadie, just wouldn't be able to learn wholesome behavior and boy am I glad I was so wrong!! The ladies not only helped me use positivity with Sadie, but they used it with me and it made me feel like I was helping Sadie to the best of my abilities! Sadie has been to 4 classes and they invited her to group class...after FOUR classes!
I could cry I am so excited that Sadie and I can go on walks and hang out in a calm way that doesn't involve me raising my voice at her or tugging on her leash all the time!
These ladies are AMAZING and I will recommend them to everyone I know!!

Our dogs are now SAFE because they know boundaries and our expectations for them. They will not run out the door and they are not in danger of running off and potentially getting hit by a car. Everyone who meets them comments on what well behaved dogs they are!!! We so look forward to our weekly training and know that the dogs love it as well!

Karen w/ Zoe

What an amazing place! We have had a wonderful experience training our Belgium Malinois for the last year, very personalize training, informative and knowledgeable about Zoe's breed. We are extremely happy wth our results, Casey has been great!

Jeanine w/ Reicher

I have had the best experience learning along side with my owner. Learning together making the bond between dog and owner stronger.
Thank you Casey and Katy your the best.
